Interior designer and friend of Sally, Nick Olsen of Nick Olsen Style, was a featured decorator in the recent Housing Works: Design on a Dime Benefit in New York City. Sally donated work on canvas MADGE ABSTRACT for the event held April 26-28 at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Chelsea.
All profits from Design on a Dime help Housing Works “Get A Room” for homeless and low-income New Yorkers living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Founded in 1990, Housing Works provides lifesaving services to homeless and low-income New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS. Shannon Whitworth is performing at the historic Dock Street Theatre on Friday, June 15. Many of you know her. Most of you have seen her in the past. But none of us has ever seen her in the oldest, most storied theatre in America.
It is the voice that grabs most of us. We have never heard anything like it. But the singer’s sultry, peppery delivery has evolved into one of the premiere, signature sounds of our day; one that is courted by the foremost producers in the music business. And it will be at the Dock Street on June 15 where she performs tunes from the past and songs from her new album. Not to sound melodramatic, but this is as good as it gets.
The Dock Street Theatre is known as the legendary venue for Spoleto events; operas, chamber music, stage shows, etc. But Shannon is bringing something new. Only Bonnie Raitt, Smokey Robinson and a few others outside of “theatre” have been invited to take the stage at the oldest theatre in America. Shannon will guide an accomplished, full backing band that includes South Carolina favorite, Barrett Smith, on guitar.

My new stylish, talented and super sweet friend, Caitlin Moran came down to Charleston the other week to interview me and get some shots of our home for a feature on the fabulous Glitter Guide blog.
It was such a fun morning, and her talented photographer friend Tom McCorkle got some great shots. Thank you both so much! Now for those of you who were wondering what our house in Charleston looks like, here are a few images.

I just love the vibrant work of Sally King Benedict. She’s an abstract artist from Atlanta that currently resides in Charleston, South Carolina and her paintings are just divine. One of my favorites is this one titled Aerial View. The color combination is spot on…and perfect for injecting some color into your home!
